How We Help Families

Protection conversations built around real life.

Life insurance professionals help families understand how different policy features may support protection, future flexibility, and long-term planning.

01

Term Life Insurance

What it is

Term life insurance provides life insurance protection for a specific period of time, such as 10, 20, or 30 years.

How it helps the client

  • Helps replace income if a breadwinner dies unexpectedly.
  • Can help protect a family during important working and child-raising years.
  • Can help cover a mortgage, debts, education expenses, and other financial responsibilities.
  • Often allows clients to obtain a larger amount of protection at a lower initial cost than permanent insurance.
“Helping families protect the years when others depend on them most.”
02

Whole Life Insurance

What it is

Whole life insurance is permanent life insurance designed to provide lifelong protection when required premiums are paid. It also builds guaranteed cash value according to the policy contract.

How it helps the client

  • Provides permanent life insurance protection.
  • Can help families plan for final expenses and other long-term needs.
  • Builds cash value over time according to the policy guarantees.
  • Can help create a financial legacy for beneficiaries.
  • Provides predictable premiums and long-term protection depending on the policy.
“Creating protection designed to last a lifetime.”
03

Indexed Universal Life Insurance (IUL)

What it is

A form of permanent life insurance that provides a death benefit and includes a cash-value component whose credited interest may be linked to the performance of a market index, subject to the policy's terms, caps, participation rates, floors, charges, and other limitations.

How it helps the client

  • Provides permanent life insurance protection when properly funded and maintained.
  • Offers cash-value accumulation potential.
  • May provide access to accumulated policy value through withdrawals or policy loans, subject to policy terms.
  • May be structured to help supplement retirement income over time when sufficient cash value has accumulated.
  • Certain policy designs or available riders may provide additional lifetime-income features, depending on the carrier and product.
  • May include living-benefit features depending on the policy and carrier.
“Helping clients combine long-term protection, cash-value potential, and additional options for future income.”

Accessing policy cash value through withdrawals or policy loans is different from a specific guaranteed lifetime-income feature. Any lifetime-income feature depends on the particular product, rider, carrier, and policy terms.

04

Living Benefits

What they are

Living benefits are features that may allow an insured person to access a portion of a life insurance policy's death benefit while they are still living if they experience a qualifying event, subject to the policy and rider terms.

How they help the client

  • May provide financial resources following a qualifying critical illness.
  • May provide benefits for certain chronic illnesses or conditions.
  • May provide access to benefits following a qualifying terminal illness.
  • Can help families manage financial pressure while dealing with a serious health event.
  • Gives some life insurance policies benefits that may be used during the insured person's lifetime, rather than only after death.
“Protection that may be able to help while life is still happening.”

Living-benefit eligibility, qualifying conditions, benefit amounts, charges, and availability vary by carrier, rider, policy, and state. Accelerating a death benefit generally reduces the remaining death benefit available to beneficiaries.

05

Fixed Indexed Annuities

What it is

A fixed indexed annuity is an insurance product designed primarily for long-term retirement accumulation and income. Its interest-crediting potential may be linked to the performance of a market index, but the client is not directly invested in that index.

How it helps the client

  • Can help protect contract value from direct stock-market losses, subject to the terms of the annuity.
  • Provides opportunities for interest crediting through available index strategies.
  • Can help clients prepare for retirement income needs.
  • Certain annuities may provide guaranteed lifetime-income options.
  • Can help clients create more predictable income during retirement.
“Helping clients turn retirement savings into a more predictable income strategy.”
One profession

Different Family Needs.

Every family is different. One client may need affordable protection while raising young children. Another may be concerned about protecting their family if they become seriously ill. Others may be focused on permanent protection, cash-value accumulation, retirement income, or leaving a legacy.

Our role is not to force every client into the same solution. Our role is to ask questions, understand the need, educate clients about their options, and help them make informed decisions.

Learn the solutions. Understand the need. Serve the family.

Examples are for educational purposes only. Product availability, features, benefits, costs, guarantees, eligibility, and suitability vary by carrier, contract, state, and individual circumstances. Guarantees are subject to the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Licensed professionals should explain specific product terms and limitations to clients.
